Amigurumi Mushroom House

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. I have been working on other computer things and the idea of staring at a screen even more, makes me want to die. But this doesn't! Here is a Amigurumi mushroom house from Craftster user Meeksandygirl. I usually don't like Amigurumi, probably because I don't crochet, that and all the figures i see are all weird bears and rabbits and I haven't seen anything too exciting... but AAGGGHHH!!! it's SOOOOOO CUTE!!! I want to make my bedroom look like this place! AWESOME!

Lunchbox - Glow Like There's No Tomorrow

Super cute indiepop band from Oakland. This EP released in 2001 on the Magic Marker Records blew me away when I first heard it. Though slightly more loopy then most indiepop, there is the underlying melodies and pop mentality that make this EP so enjoyable.

1. Satellite
2. I Could Have Been Someone Else
3. Fernruf
4. Gravity

purl drums

I remember seeing this guy Corey Fogel at the Maker Faire 2008, me and my friend (who is a drummer) were both so out of it when we saw him, that we stood in a huge crowd of people staring at him for like 15min. not much changes in that time, but when your really hungry and a little sun stroked, this guy becomes the radest thing in the world.... Trust me

My Bloody Valentine - Peel Sessions (1988)

Alright... one last MBV album, I think thats everything from my collection. (Minus a few single tracks from various compilations, live stuff, and duh... the two albums.) I wouldent usually post stuff like this because they are songs that you can find anywhere, Its the same way I feel about posting live stuff. Its usually the same songs from an album i already have, just fuzzy and poorly recorded. Not that there are no good live albums, I probably will not post them. But for some reason I feel different about Peel Sessions. They are such an institution, and John Peel recorded people so well, that sometimes they sound like completely different songs. So even though you can find these songs everywhere... Here you go!

Track listing:
1. I Can See It (But I Can't Feel It)
2. Lose My Breath
3. When You Wake (You're Still In A Dream)
4. Feed Me With Your Kiss

More MBV!

So I cant stop listening to the Sunny Sundae Smile EP that song is so good when i got home today i had to learn how to play it... and then i went through my m usic and remembered one thing I forgot to post. When sn't Anything first came out in the UK it came with a limited edition 7" with two instrumental tracks on it. I got a chance to buy this at the record store I worked at. Not really and EP but, if your like me, and you need to own every song an artist you like ever did, then here you go!

Instrumental Side: A
Instrumental Side: B

And yes those are the names of the tracks

My Bloody Valentine Doing Map Ref. 41N 93W I think this version might be better than the original version by Wire

Every My Bloody Valentine Ep...

HI!, I just came upon all the MBV EP's, and I am so excited right now! Some of this is a little unlistenable, *cough*ThisIsYourBloodyValentine*cough* but get past that and the 3 eps released in 1987 are some of their best work. Totally different from what they would sound like on Loveless, More jangly and shambly pop tunes, but still with a hint of what they where to become. Best song ever "Paint A Rainbow" off Sunny Sundae Smile I put the You Made Me Realise in my banner because its one of my favorite album covers ever.
*Here they are in chronological order*

This Is Your Bloody Valentine (1984)

Geek (1985)

The New Record By My Bloody Valentine (1986)

Sunny Sundae Smile (1987)

Strawberry Wine (1987)

Ecstacy (1987)

Feed Me With Your Kiss (1988)

You Made Me Realise (1988)

Glider (1990)

Tremolo (1991)

Compilation
Here is a compilation that came out in Japan in 2006, combines Geek, the The New Record By My Bloody Valentine, Sunny Sundae Smile, and Strawberry Wine EPs, so... you could just get this...

Vivian Girls

Put out this year on Mauled By Tigers The Vivian Girls self titled album is probably the best indie pop out right now. Lo-Fi and loud, with hints of shoegaze, the songwriting is great simplistic pop. I have heard that the LP is already sold out, but I just ordered their second 7" - trying to find a way to order the first. (probably sold out) Get the LP now! I heard about them through their Myspace, but i got the album from this great blog Demoniazed so get the album here and then go see them live, and buy something of theirs!

Food Party!!

A while back, I ran into these amazing pictures of soft floating landscapes by artist by the name of Thu Tran.
(Click on the pictures to see them bigger)

Her work is really detailed and complicated. I can only imagine how long it took her to make these. Upon doing more reaserch i found out about this!

She has a Television show called "Food Party". And it reminds me of when I was a kid and tried to recreate episodes of "Fraggle Rock" using sock puppets. (They never turned out well) I still haven't gone through all the episodes but from what I've seen, I'm super impressed. check out more youtube- "Food Party!!

P.S Looking at the picture below, Yeah, the giant snowman puppet is cool but I fell in love with the little stuffed rat(?) head on the wall... I have to make something like that for my room.

Searching For The Now 2

Here is Vol. 2
I can't srtop listening to the Bye! song. I'm going to have to do more research on them...

Side A: Bye! - "OH NO, Baby Don't"
Side B: The Happy Couple - "Song For The Troubadour (Acoustic Version)"

Searching For The Now 1

Slumberland Records will be releasing 2 limited edition 7" singles every 2 months, pressed on crazy color vinyl or hand made sleeves. I just got the first two. They were pressed on crazzy marbled vinyl, and so far all the songs on these are excellent, played by bands I had neve heard of before. so... here is the first one, Let me know what you think?

Side A: The Company Presents Roy Moller - "Join The Dots"

Side B: The Hermit Crabs - "Flaxen-Haired Boy"

I am a huge fan of slumberland records, ever since i first heard the Aislers set. and I have been collecting most of their 7" singles. but they have never really done anything like this before, making me really excited to see who they're going to put on these singles, and how hard they're going to come by as the months go on. The next 2 are due out June 17th and vol. 4 has The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart who i have been falling in love with the last few months.
